All participants have to work together in teams of 2-5. Each team have to choose af focus which encompasses your main area of interest within offshore wind power and write an abstract of maximum 10 pages. You can find inspiration for the technical challenges on this site.


The deadline for abstracts is June 1st. 

 

The abstract is the basis for choosing 15 teams for the final which takes place in the autumn 2008. The finalists will be notified on June 20th.

 

Our goal is to have as many different technical solutions in the final round as possible, so all contributions are welcome!

Who can join? 

All students at universities and engenieering colleges with an interest in wind energy can join the competition. The technical challenges mainly targets students with a background in the subjects listed below. But if you just have a keen interest in offshore wind power technology, your education is not a criteria for participating.  Grafik - pige

The abstract will be evaluated based on a lot of different aspects. Some of the main areas will be a creative approach to the challenge, ability to work with multiple aspects of the technology, technical insigth into the chosen focus area.

 

Criteria for joining

The only formal criteriin you should meet, in order to participate in the challenge is the following:

  • You should submit an abstract of max 10 pages describing your idea before the deadline on May 15th

If you are chosen for the final:

  • You write a project that meets the requirements of you educational institution for project reports. Your project should be submitted for evaluation as a part of your studies, either as your semester project or as a part of a course that you are following.


  • With your project as background you shall submit a paper of max 25 pages describing the technological solutions that the project attacks. The paper will be the background for the evaluation from the sponsoring companies. 

  • Your team should compose a poster for the prize ceremony. The poster will also be a part of the evaluation from the companies.
